Margaret received her Master of Science in Oral Biology and Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene, with a Minor in Education. She has also attended the University of Washington Dental School Summer Institute of Clinical Research Methods.
Margaret has an extensive background as an educator, as well as experience in clinical practice. She is now a faculty member in an online Bachelor’s Degree completion program (see YouTube). Margaret as a dental science technical writer has authored and contributed to professional Oral Biology textbooks, journal articles, as well as professional, office, and consumer newsletters, as noted below. Her continuing education seminars have been well received nationally, as well as internationally. She has presented at both ADHA and ADA Annual Sessions, Yankee Dental Congress, and at three past RDH Magazine's Under One Roof sessions. She also has extensive online course work available. Margaret is the recipient of the ADHA Award for Excellence Dental Hygiene (see press release and flickr show). With this award, ADHA recognize individual dental hygienists who have made outstanding accomplishments that have a significant impact on the practice and future of the dental hygiene profession. The recipients have at least 10 years of membership in ADHA and its constituents, demonstrate an active involvement in the association, and were nominated by a colleague for their outstanding accomplishments. Margaret was nominated by her sister and fellow dental hygienist, master clinician Trish Toma, RDH, BS, of Houston, TX.
